From Dread Central, December 29, 2025:

Those of you expecting to receive the gift of Tarman this Christmas were massively disappointed, but here’s a stocking stuffer of good news: Steve Wolsh‘s remake of Return of the Living Dead is now on track for release in November 2026, according to an official statement on the film’s website.

The reason for the delay is that filming continued through the end of this year, but the news came with a surprise – “WithAnO Productions and Living Dead Media took over The London Hotel in West Hollywood, California to share a special sneak peek of the new Return of the Living Dead movie. The guest list included various industry, talent, media, and more for a festive red carpet event that included a thirteen-minute sneak peek of the new movie.”

“A packed house was treated to a scene featuring cast members Devon Sawa, Casimere Jollette, Kynlee Heiman, and Alexander Ward (Teen Wolf, Ghosted, Annabelle Comes Home, Escape the Night, Westworld and American Horror Story), who plays the iconic Tarman in the new film,” adds the update. “Director Steve Wolsh gave brief introductions and thanked all attending before setting up the clip. While details of the scene are still under wraps, the crowd was filled with gasps, cheers, laughs, and applause at what you can expect was a gruesomely gory good time.”

Dread Central has heard from insiders that this footage was not only impressive but quite gory, and that Wolsh “understood the assignment.” It’s time to get HYPED.

Just watched the new “night of the living dead” remake trailer.. holy cow it looks terrible… the new “Return” trailer looks great though! Practical effects will be great! and I hope you guys use a similar filmic/motion picture look in Cinematography. This would really give it a continuity between ROTLD1 and 2.

Big fan of the OGs but all we’ve seen is some crappy cosplay level shit. Y’all keep pushing the release date back too. I predict this movie will not only NOT live up to the hype, but will be an absolute disaster.
